I'm a total Lanvin snob and can not get enough of Alber Elbaz! It's 1 of those out of control obsessions, though being ADD and OCD isn't an excuse for my compulsive Lanvin habit (based on my hubby when the amex bill arrives every month) but who cares! I felt fabulous at the launch of "Fashion on Main" last night in my silk and chiffon Lanvin dress(okay, so I was fashionably late and only made it to the following party but that's not the point). The obsession doesn't end at his divine dresses, I adore the quirky beaded necklaces sewn on black lace or sheer chiffon panels, the sky high stilettos, and not surprisingly Lanvin bags! This fall he shows again his adore for all things jewel toned, offering slick patent leather, silky satin, and buttery soft leather bags in shades of ruby, emerald, and amethyst. My friend, the fabulous Shoe Goddess, and I are pining over Lanvin metallic bags this season. We've narrowed it down to the metallic Maxi Miss (which Kelly actually wants in white) and the Lanvin Kansas tote. I am partial to the Kansas tote despite the fact that the Maxi Miss is a lot more my style but the Kansas just looks so comfortable and casually chic! All the other Lanvin bags I've been contemplating have chain straps along with the thought of chains, beautiful or not, on my bare shoulders within the summer is actually a bit excruciating. I love how very simple this tote is, but it's not without style. Little details like the ruched leading and silver nikel hardware against the supple metallic leather seriously funks it up. This is actually a fantastic bag for me to travel with, the handles slip over the shoulder and leave both my hands free of charge to schlep my son and his gazillions of travel toys around. The size is large but surprisingly light. Yes, I've already tried it on at Barneys and if I'm still obsessing over it in a month I'll go for it.
We are totally in adore with Lanvin lately. Alber Elbaz has developed an additional gem with this London bag. The simple and tasteful structure is given a twist with cushiony leather and plexi chains, producing it edgy yet maintaining its classic appeal. It really is Steve McQueen cool and is going to be a well employed bag within your collection. This snob worthy bag is often a smart to get.
